Skoda yeti those characteristics. The first Czech SUV - Skoda Yeti. Weight and dimensions

After 2000, the Czech brand Skoda began a new birth - the final redemption of it by the Volkswagen concern took place. All this had a positive impact on the development of the brand, it has new technologies, production capacities and confidence in the future. Over time, there was a gradual re-equipment of Skoda models using Volkswagen components and assemblies.

Skoda Yeti is the first crossover of the Czech brand, which is based on the very promising Volkswagen A5 platform, so the technical characteristics of the Skoda Yeti are very close to one of the most popular crossovers, the Tiguan. With the advent of this car, Skoda entered a new segment of sub-compact crossovers in a timely manner, in which competition began to intensify.

Geometric indicators of the car

The first-born of the Skoda brand was built on the already tested nodes and the Volkswagen platform and with a large share of the unification of parts with the Roomster. The Skoda Octavia Scout is built on the same base, as well as the "big brother" Volksvagen Tiguan and even the Audi Q3.

  • length 4223 mm
  • width 1793 mm
  • height 1691 mm
  • ground clearance 180 mm
  • wheelbase 2578 mm
  • curb weight 1375 kg
  • gross weight1920 kg
  • tank volume 60 liters
  • luggage compartment from 405 to 1760 liters.

The dimensions of the "snowy" Skoda are approximately equal to the dimensions of the main competitors: Mitsubishi ASX and its derivatives from Peugeot and Citroen, Opel Mokka, Toyota Urban Cruiser (urban crossover for Europe, not sold in Russia) and a number of Chinese models. But unlike them, the Yeti has already celebrated its anniversary - back in 2011, the 100,000th model was sold.

The Yeti Salon is a haven for a rationalist. The seats are heavily padded and provide ample lateral support. From other models of the brand, the VarioFlex transformation system migrated here, allowing you to transform all the rear row seats. The high driving position provides excellent visibility, and the dimensions of the car are felt from the first meters.

On guard of safety, the Czech simply has a huge arsenal of systems that have come from Tiguan: ESP, EDS, AFM, HBA DSR, ABS, MSR, EBV, ESBS and ASR. With the help of all these systems, the Yeti will rise and descend from the mountain, will not go into a skid or simply skid, and on a high-speed straight line, the electronics will keep the car on the road even with a sharp change of lane.

Engines and gearboxes

Yeti engines are an example of classic downsizing, i.e. reducing the volume of the engine, but maintaining its characteristics. If most of Skoda's competitors make atmospheric models and only a few, the most expensive modifications are equipped with a turbine to improve performance, then in the Czech crossover all engines have the "turbo" prefix:

  • 1.2 l with 105 hp and a torque of 175 Nm. The car accelerates to 100 km / h in 11.8 seconds and consumes 7.6 liters in the city and 6 on the highway. As can be seen from the dynamics, it rides without a twist and is only suitable for leisurely movement in the city. The main disadvantage of this unit is a very long warm-up and, as a result, cold in the cabin. It is aggregated both with a six-speed mechanics and with a proprietary DSG dual-clutch robot.
  • 1.4 l with 122 hp, torque is 200 Nm. The optimal motor for the city and small throws on the highway. It combines confident dynamics - 10.5 s to 100 km / h and moderate fuel consumption - 8.9 liters in the city and 6 liters on the highway. The same unit is placed on the compact Audi models - A1 and A3. A set of gearboxes similar to the younger version: mechanics or robot. Despite the increased engine capacity compared to 1.2 liters, the owners will still warm up the interior for a long time in winter.
  • 1.8 l with a power of 152 hp and a torque of 250 Nm. A serious unit that has all-wheel drive and impressive dynamics: 8.7 seconds to "hundred". Fuel consumption remains within reason: 10.1 liters in the city and 6.9 liters on the highway. This motor is well known from the Foxwagen Passat and Passat SS models, as well as Octavia and Superb. The set of transmissions is the same: robot or mechanics.
  • 2.0 l diesel 140 hp Torque - 320 Nm. This unit went to the Yeti from the Tiguan. A Czech rides with such an engine even more fun than a German, due to its smaller size and weight. Skoda Yeti characteristics in this case has the following: acceleration - 10.2 seconds, consumption - 7.6 (city), 5.8 (highway). Like the 1.8 liter version, it is equipped with all-wheel drive, but there is no choice of gearbox - only a robot.

All-wheel drive system

In the "top" versions of the Yeti, it is equipped with a 4-wheel drive. The principle of operation and implementation mechanisms are entirely transferred from Tiguan. The system is based on the fourth generation Haldex coupling. The driver is not involved in the choice of drive wheels, everything is run by electronics. A feature of the use of the latest generation Haldex clutch is the always-on main reverse gear, which implies the transfer of a small - 5% of torque to the rear axle.

The all-wheel drive computer unit is tied to the vehicle's CAN bus, which receives the main vehicle indicators from all sensors. Therefore, we can say with confidence that the all-wheel drive is ready to quickly connect during acceleration, braking or skidding.

With intensive acceleration, as soon as the gas pedal was pressed, the four-wheel drive control unit already blocks the clutch, without waiting for slipping. Another advantage of such a system is the absence of the need to unlock during ESP operation, and the reliability is evidenced by the fact that the clutch can “digest” torque up to 2400 Nm.

Options and prices

In the domestic market, Skoda has the following configuration characteristics:

New options: tire pressure indicator, stickers with Olympic symbols, multifunctional steering wheel, cooled glove compartment, rear parking sensors, heated windshield, luggage compartment lighting, textile mats, alarm system.

Conclusion

Before us is a very practical and mobile crossover, whose kinship with Volkswagen models gives the Yeti excellent performance. It is dynamic, economical, has one of the best all-wheel drive systems and at the same time is very attractively priced. Moreover, despite the fact that we have a crossover in front of us, albeit a compact one, Skoda has fuel consumption at the level of an urban hatchback!

In 2009, the Czech model Skoda Yeti literally broke into the Russian crossover car market. The Yeti (that is, the “snowman”) conquered, first of all, with excellent technical characteristics and comfort, making it a tangible competitor to such models as the Nissan Qashqai, Mitsubishi ASX, Hyundai ix35 or Kia Sportage.

"Yeti" in colors and dimensions

Skoda Yeti was created on the Volkswagen A5 platform, which is quite logical: in 1990, Volkswagen AG became a co-owner of the Skoda enterprise, which merged with the German concern that had previously absorbed the German Audi and the Spanish Seat.

I must say that the idea of creating an SUV (and in terms of driving performance the Skoda Yeti is very close to this class of cars, which will be discussed below) did not arise from scratch. Since the 30s of the last century, the automobile enterprise had experience in creating army and even tanks (there is a legend that the last of the three hundred light tanks of Czech production was shot down in 1941 near Moscow).

Of course, "Yeti" neither externally nor internally even remotely hints at the turbulent military past of the Skoda brand. The exterior of the car is moderately peaceful, but still not without a hint of its off-road purpose: the overall dimensions of the Skoda Yeti (length 4.22, width 1.8, height 1.65 meters) and, most importantly, the clearance increased to 18 cm indicate clearly extraordinary abilities that are fully manifested in the all-wheel drive version.

The body colors of the Skoda Yeti also offer a choice between an aggressive SUV and a peaceful SUV. There are exactly a dozen of them - from neutral white and silver to brutal black and green.

Body palette "Skoda Yeti":

  • black
  • red
  • burgundy
  • brown
  • green
  • blue
  • blue
  • grey
  • beige
  • silver
  • white.

Trunk space and interior comfort

To match the external dimensions of the car and interior, the height of which is from 1.08 m in front to 1.03 m in the rear. The luggage compartment is very voluminous even with the rear seats unfolded - 410 liters, and in their folded position - up to 1760 liters.

I must say that the designers treated the rear row of seats of the five-seater station wagon with special love, making it transformable. The so-called VarioFlex system, where a row consists of three separate seats, allows, in the absence of a central one, to shift the outer seats to each other by 8 cm each. The panoramic roof, which is also equipped with a sunroof and an electric curtain, allows passengers to do some distracting and entertaining business during the trip, for example, counting crows.

In general, the interior, made in the original two-tone solution, is very convenient: full power accessories and such pleasant little things as a lot of trunks and glove compartments for small items create the maximum comfort possible while driving.

The safety of the driver and passengers is given increased attention. Depending on the configuration, a pair of front ones can be supplemented with four side ones. The Yeti's crash tests have shown exceptional results in terms of vehicle reliability, earning the highest Euro NCAP rating. Passive safety includes innovative technologies such as bi-xenon headlights with cornering light, as well as more than a dozen other driver assistance aids from traction control (ABS) to forced stability control (DSR).

Moreover, even such a moment as “hindrance from behind” is taken into account, that is, during sudden braking, emergency stop signals are automatically turned on.

  • Basic security systems Skoda Yeti;
  • a reliable body reinforced with a technologically designed system of stiffening ribs;
  • Isofix child seat attachment mechanism;
  • system of blocking differentials with a heterogeneous coating of the web (EDL);
  • up to nine airbags (option)

Specifications Skoda Yeti

From the point of view of the power content of the car, there are four engine options for the Yeti on the market today, duplicating the Volkswagen ones: 1.2, 1.4 and 1.8 liter gasoline and a two-liter diesel engine. All of them are turbocharged, ranging from 105 to 152 hp. With. Moreover, the record does not belong to a diesel unit that develops maximum torque at 1800-2500 rpm, but to an internal combustion engine of 1.8 liters, the maximum return falls on the mode from 1500 to 4500 rpm. True, the fuel consumption of this Skoda Yeti model is significantly higher: on the highway - 7-8 l / 100 km, in the city - 11-12 liters (subject to a non-aggressive driving style). For comparison: the weakest 1.2-liter engine consumes almost the same amount of gasoline as a two-liter diesel diesel - 6-7 liters per 100 km.

Modifications of WV engines on the Skoda Yeti, coupled with a transmission

  • 1.2TSI MT
  • 1.2TSI DSG
  • 1.4TSI MT
  • 1.4TSI DSG
  • 1.6MPI MT
  • 1.6 MPI AT
  • -1.8 TSI DSG 4×4
  • 2.0 TDI DSG 4×4

Of course, this indicator depends not only on the workload of the car, the driving style of the driver and the number of traffic jams on the way, but also on the type of gearbox. There are two types of them in the Skoda Yeti: manual transmission (5- or 6-speed) and robotic (7 gears). The latter is similar in principle to conventional “mechanics”, only the clutch moment is provided not by pressing the pedal, but by an automatic hydraulic or servo drive with a signal from an electronic processor. He is entrusted with the moment of changing pairs of clutch gears to change the gear ratio from high to low and vice versa.

The undoubted plus of the “robot” box in the main component of the unit is that it is mechanical. The rest is electronics, which provides optimal modes when the clutch is actuated, especially if it is double, stimulating a smooth transition to the next gear. True, the electronic “brains” of the gearbox fail more often than the nerve endings of a living person, which allow you to turn on the clutch with your left foot at the right time. But rarely enough to last 100-200 thousand kilometers, following the recommendations for car maintenance. But for women and lazy men it is quite convenient.

But for active drivers, fans (including winter ones), “mechanics” are more suitable. The manual transmission on the Yeti is soft, as they say, obedient. In off-road conditions, this is the most suitable option, ensuring that prolonged driving in snow, mud at high loads will not create problems with gear changes.

"Yeti" all-wheel drive

Well, if you are seriously talking about the transmission, it would be a crime not to talk about the drive systems for transmitting torque to the drive wheels.

As already mentioned, the Yeti is available with two transmission options: front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. With a lonely leading front end, everything is clear: a purely “SUV” for urban operating conditions with a claim to permissiveness. By the way, not only crossovers of the SUV class (according to the European classification, which include the Skoda Yeti), but also more brutal cars that are a priori sharpened off-road, for example, the legendary American Jeep Cherokee, sin with such a layout.

But with all-wheel drive, the Yeti is much more interesting. It is necessary to make a reservation right away: Yeti will crawl almost everywhere - in mud, and in slurry, and in snowdrifts, but not in a deep rut that will land the body on bridges, and your "snowman" will helplessly flounder with its paws into the void, without catching the wheels hard ground.

"He's all-wheel drive, he must get out!" - the owners of the Yeti are indignant. As one good trophy raider said, "remember, son, four-wheel drive does not owe anyone anything." Even a lifted Land rover Defender is powerless in a deep rut. Like our UAZs and GAZs, they are recognized leaders in overcoming forests, swamps, sands and other Russian evil spirits.

But on even (with respect to the 18-centimeter clearance, of course) snow, in the mud, the Yeti swamp has something to surprise the owner. The rear pair is connected here not forcibly, but with the help of a Haldex clutch, the control of which depends on the readings of the sensors of the engine control unit, the ABS system and other components that control the parameters of the engine and chassis. At low speeds (up to 30 km/h), an off-road auxiliary complex functions separately, which controls the transmission when starting off on ice, mud and other slippery surfaces. The reverse function - holding the car - off-road provides for extreme descents.

The anti-slip mechanism (ABS) is also original: in extreme mode, it temporarily blocks the rotation of the wheels in such a way that a “snowdrift” of soil forms in front of the tread, due to which further advancement of the car is ensured. For the honorary title of "Absolute SUV" "Yeti" lacks a full center axle (although there are no axles here - independent suspension) and wheel lock. Although, on the other hand, they are, why if electronics rules?

Restyling Skoda Yeti

Of course, not all the features and options of the Skoda Yeti listed above are present in the base model. For seven years, the car was supplemented with new options, mostly not significant, but also other organs of perception. Today, there are three configurations - Active, Ambition and Elegance, which differ mainly in the interior of the cabin. And let the buyer not be confused by other names assigned to this noble car, such as: - Yeti Outdoor - Yeti Monte-Carlo - New Superb - New Superb Combi - Hockey Edition - Kodiaq.

The difference is in the country of sale, but inside and out, the same kind, reliable Skoda Yeti of the 2009 model. Except modernized.

In 2013, there was a redesign, called the buzzword "restyling", but in fact little has changed in the car. Lights were added to the headlights, the full-face decorative grille was slightly changed ... The already mentioned panoramic roof with a selfie hatch, as well as a rear-view camera for comfortable parking, appeared.

By the way, in the latest configuration of the Yeti there is an auto-parking system, when it is better not to touch the steering wheel: the controller will park the car itself, provided that the driver does not press the accelerator pedal.

Still, the Yeti was not designed for parking. His element is an active drive that does not go beyond the limits of a well-thought-out country trip. Even in summer, even in winter - in solving such a problem, he certainly will not let you down.

The characteristics of the Skoda Yeti crossover make it very attractive to potential buyers. An economical engine, a convenient gearbox, a roomy trunk, a comfortable lounge - these are just some of the advantages of the Yeti.

Skoda Yeti is based on the Volkswagen A5 modification PQ35. The compact dimensions of this car ensure its maneuverability and easy handling. The technical characteristics of the five-door Skoda Yeti crossover largely depend on its modification. So, the car can be equipped with a gasoline or diesel engine with a capacity of 1.2-2 liters, supplied with a 6-speed manual gearbox or 6/7-speed DSG, while having full or only front-wheel drive.

Main characteristics

Regardless of the modification, all Skoda Yeti cars have the following unchanged characteristics:

  • body - station wagon,
  • trunk threshold height - 712 mm,
  • front and rear wheel track - 1541 mm,
  • ground clearance - 180 mm,
  • fuel tank capacity - 60 l,
  • turning circle - 10.4 m,
  • the presence of an electromechanical power steering,
  • trunk volume 410 l,
  • trunk capacity with retracted and lowered seat backs - 1760 l and 1580 l, respectively,
  • interior height - 1080 mm front and 1027 mm rear,
  • the width of the upper beam of the body is 1446 mm in front and 1437 mm in the rear.

Dimensions

External characteristics

Distinctive features of the Skoda Yeti are a massive bumper and a radiator grill surrounded by four headlights. The profile of the crossover attracts with an interesting line of a raised roof, clear contours of the rear and central pillars of the body. Skoda Yeti has an original and very friendly appearance, behind which are hidden high-quality units and components that provide this car with decent technical characteristics.

Salon Features

The interior of this five-seater crossover is spacious and roomy. It can comfortably accommodate both people and bulky luggage. Thanks to the high seating position, Yeti passengers feel especially protected, and also get the opportunity for excellent visibility. Sufficient rigidity of the seats and their shape, repeating the curve of the back of a seated person, provides increased comfort during long journeys.

Thanks to the VarioFlex system, each of the three Skoda Yeti rear seats can be transformed, increasing the loading space. In general, the interior looks restrained and elegant. On top of that, the Skoda Yeti has a large panoramic sunroof, consisting of two parts and controlled by an electronic system.

Line of power units

Depending on the modification of the Skoda Yeti, it may have:

  • 1.2 TFSI - a gasoline engine with a displacement of 1197 cm3 and a power of 105 liters. With. It consumes from 5.7 liters of fuel on the highway to 8 liters in urban mode per 100 km. It is used in combination with a manual 6-speed gearbox or an automatic 7 DSG. It is put on front-wheel drive versions. Skoda Yeti with such an engine develops a speed of up to 175 km / h, accelerating from the start to 100 km / h in 12 s. Weight Yeti, equipped with such an engine, is 1340 kg (equipped) and 1885 kg (full).
  • 1.4 TSI - gasoline engine with a displacement of 1390 cc. cm and a capacity of 122 liters. with., having a fuel consumption of 5.89-7.58 liters per 100 kilometers. It is combined with 6 manual gearboxes or 7 DSG and is used for front-wheel drive models. Yeti with such an engine reaches a maximum speed of 186 km / h, spending 10.5 seconds to accelerate to 100 km / h. Weight Yeti equipped with this engine is 1375 kg (curb) and 1910 kg (full).
  • 1.8 TSI - gasoline engine with a capacity of 1798 cc. cm and a capacity of 160 liters. s., consumes 6.9-10.5 liters of fuel per 100 km. It is used with 6 manual gearboxes or 6 DSG (for all-wheel drive Skoda Yeti). The maximum speed is 200 km/h. Acceleration time to 100 km / h - 8.7 seconds. The weight of Yeti with such an engine is 1505 kg (equipped) and 2070 kg (full).
  • 2.0 TDI - engine with a displacement of 1968 cc. cm and a capacity of 140 liters. With. It uses diesel as fuel, the consumption of which per 100 km is 5.3-7.1 liters. Supplied with 6 manual gearboxes or 6 DSGs (for all-wheel drive models). Provides a top speed of 190 km/h and acceleration to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds. The Skoda Yeti with this diesel engine has a curb weight of 1530 kg and a gross weight of 2075 kg.

For any automaker, the restyling procedure is not so much the modernization of a car to warm up consumer interest in it, but rather work on the bugs. Especially over those that fans of the brand constantly complain about. As a rule, we are talking about various design, technological, economic, marketing and design errors. Apparently, the Czech company Skoda decided that their Yeti crossover was already perfect, so the head optics became the only really corrected mistake during restyling, minor innovations do not count. Well, they have a right. Read all the details about the "updated" Yeti in our review!

Design

It's no secret that the main deterrent to sales of the first Yeti was a non-trivial appearance. Skoda fans who were not ready for experiments, who were accustomed to the conservative Czech style, didn’t like Bigfoot at all: it looked too cartoonish and frivolous against the background of other models of the brand. But the public, more open to new ideas, liked it, but such an audience was not enough for successful sales.

In connection with the failures of the first generation car, the Czechs thought about it and decided to redraw the Yeti's main controversial element - the head lighting equipment. And at the same time they took up the revision of the bumpers, grille and, for the sake of symmetry, taillights. As a result, Bigfoot frowned and became more strict, solid and ... a little boring. The only thing that has completely retained its originality in its appearance is the visual division of the body into driver and cargo-passenger parts. Evil tongues claim that Yeti is for pensioners and people burdened with all the hardships of family life, but it’s hard to agree with this, given the decent dynamics and many “smart” solutions that progressive motorists appreciate so much. Yeti - for those who know a lot about good and practical cars.

Design

The crossover is built on the basis of the larger old Skoda Octavia: it borrowed a "cart" from it with a McPherson front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension, as well as supercharged engines and a Haldex all-wheel drive system. True, unlike the pre-reform version, equipped with a 4th generation electro-hydraulic clutch, the restyled version received a 5th generation mechanism, which is lighter and faster. The new clutch works with a constant preload and transfers 4 percent of traction to the rear axle even in standard conditions, but it does not completely block and, in the absence of traction at the front wheels, can send back no more than 90 percent of the moment.

Adaptation to Russian conditions

Given that the Yeti, like other Skoda vehicles, is primarily positioned as a family car, it's no surprise that its off-road ability is limited, even in the case of an all-wheel drive modification. Still, its 180-mm ground clearance and good geometry of short bumpers are not enough to conquer Russian off-road. But for the city and country primer - a completely different matter. For the harsh Russian winter, Bigfoot has heated front seats, side mirrors and windshield washer nozzles. Electric windshield heating and a parking heater are available for a surcharge, as is Climatronic dual-zone climate control (in the “base” there is an ordinary air conditioner).

Comfort

In the cabin, the changes are minimal: like the restyled Skoda Superb, there are new steering wheel and gearshift lever DSG, and that's it. In general, this is good, because the Yeti interior can already be considered a model of ergonomics and comfort. Seats in the 1st row have a neutral shape and profile, due to which they are comfortable for riders of any size. For comfort, high growth will not become an obstacle, since the seats have a wide range of adjustments, and the steering column is adjustable both in height and in reach. On the 2nd row is not too spacious, but this is more than offset by the incredible functionality of the rear seats. The sofa is divided into 3 parts, each of which moves, tilts, folds or completely dismantled. It is noteworthy that a similar solution is usually used in minivans, but not in compact crossovers.

Attention to detail in Skoda definitely learned from the parent car concern Volkswagen: drawers, hooks, shelves, trims, cup holders, pockets, straps and fasteners eloquently testify to this. Even the seat belt buckles have special locks. The luggage compartment of the Yeti is not the most spacious in the class, but it is well-organized. When folding the rear sofa, its volume increases from 405 liters. up to an impressive 1580 hp. Traditionally, a full-size spare tire is stored in the trunk underground. In addition, after restyling, a flashlight appeared in the cargo compartment - another "smart" solution from Skoda.

In crash tests by the European independent organization Euro NCAP, Yeti earned 5 stars out of 5, demonstrating excellent results: driver or adult passenger protection - 92%, child passenger protection - 78%, pedestrian protection - 46%, safety devices - 71%. Far from poor standard equipment, which includes front-mounted airbags, an Era-Glonass panic button, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and an electronic stability program (ESP), helped get good grades. In more expensive trim levels - side airbags, curtains, cruise control and an assistant when starting uphill. For a surcharge, you can purchase a rear-view camera, parking sensors, a driver fatigue sensor, a knee airbag, as well as an anti-theft alarm with volume sensors, roll sensors and an autonomous siren.

The entertainment systems of the car have not undergone any changes. The base Yeti has a simple radio setup with an antenna and 4 speakers, while the top one has a two-din radio with 8 speakers, an SD card slot, Bluetooth wireless protocol and AUX / USB connectors for connecting mobile devices. You will have to pay extra for a full-fledged Amundsen multimedia complex with navigation. Both the head unit and the Amundsen sound quite acceptable. The optional "multimedia" pleases with the speed of response and image quality. In addition to it, Swing and Bolero audio systems are also available.

Skoda Yeti Specifications

Today, Yeti has three engines, and all are gasoline. The base 1.6-liter MPI engine with multiport injection develops 110 hp. and 155 Nm, combined with a five-speed "mechanics" or a six-speed automatic transmission. An intermediate option is a 125-horsepower 1.4-liter TSI engine. (200 Nm), which is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, or with a 7-speed DSG “robot”, and the top version is a 1.8-liter TSI engine with a return of 152 hp. (250 Nm). The latter is in tandem with a six-speed DSG transmission and, unlike the others, is combined with all-wheel drive. According to the manufacturer, the average fuel consumption is from 5.8 to 8 liters. per 100 km, depending on the modification. It should be borne in mind that the real "appetite" may be greater.

The updated Skoda Yeti, like its predecessor, is built on the Volkswagen PQ35 platform. The novelty differs from its predecessor by a radiator grille, modified lighting, a new front and rear bumper, as well as a new tailgate. The dimensions of the compact SUV remained the same: length - 4222 mm, width - 1793 mm, height - 1691 mm. The wheelbase is 2,578 mm. Clearance - 180 mm. The volume of the luggage compartment varies from 322 to 1,760 liters.

The chassis of the updated Skoda Yeti: front suspension - McPherson struts with lower triangular wishbones and a stabilizer; rear suspension - multi-link with one longitudinal and three transverse levers and a stabilizer. The car is equipped with a hydraulic brake system with a vacuum booster. The front brakes are ventilated discs. Rear brakes - disc. Steering - rack and pinion with an electromechanical amplifier. Drive - front or full AWD, based on the fifth generation Haldex clutch.

The restyled crossover Skoda Yeti is offered in two versions: Yeti City - for the city and Yeti Outdoor - for off-road. The car in the City version received body-colored bumpers and side protective moldings. Yeti Outdoor features an off-road body kit in the form of unpainted plastic sills and bumpers, as well as a silver lining on the front and rear bumpers. Salon Skoda Yeti was created in the best traditions of the Volkswagen concern - everything is strict and concise.

One of the features of the restyled Skoda Yeti is the presence of an electronic parking assistant, to which a rear-view camera is offered as an option. The system is automatically activated when reverse gear is engaged and displays an image on the infotainment screen. Optionally, an automatic assistant for parallel and perpendicular parking is available for the car: the electronics independently determines the starting point of the maneuver and the optimal trajectory, and in case of a danger of a collision or exceeding the speed of 7 km / h, it initiates emergency braking.

Depending on the market, the updated Skoda Yeti is offered with an expanded range of petrol and diesel powertrains. These are: 1.2 TSI (105 hp, 175 Nm); 1.4 TSI (125 hp, 200 Nm); 1.6 MPI (110 hp, 155 Nm); 1.8 TSI (152 hp, 250 Nm); 1.4 TDI (140 hp, 320 Nm); 1.6 TDI (150 hp, 250 Nm); 2.0 TDI (110 hp, 280 Nm); 2.0 TDI (170 hp, 350 Nm). In Russia, the Skoda Yeti crossover is available with three powertrains:

Petrol with distributed fuel injection 1.6 MPI (110 hp, 155 Nm). The declared fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 6.9-7.1 liters per 100 kilometers. Acceleration time from zero to 100 km / h - from 11.8 to 13.3 seconds (depending on the transmission). The maximum speed is from 172 to 175 km/h.
. turbocharged petrol 1.4 TSI (125 hp, 200 Nm). In the combined cycle, the engine consumes 5.8 liters of fuel for every hundred of the way. From zero to the first hundred, the car "shoots" in 9.9 (10.1) seconds. Maximum speed - 187 (186) km / h.
