Do-it-yourself installation of a central lock on a VAZ 2109

It all started with the fact that I purchased the PREMIER 104 central lock: the kit includes the control unit itself, 4 activators for each set of screws and rods, terminal wires, two remote control fobs with a built-in folding key and it all costs 1100 r, but I want to say immediately to everyone who was delighted with such a price, it is not final and can change and only upwards. Well, let's get started.

I installed activators on all doors. There were no holes for wiring in the doors or in the racks, so I had to do everything myself. In general, there are standard s-shaped corrugated tubes for 2109, but I did not use them because of a decent diameter of about 20mm. Having only a 13mm drill, I opted for tubes from the VAZ 2110. After a thorough study of the design of the doors, it turned out that they already had holes for regular activators.

They were also present at the back door. The presence of holes made me very happy, however, after a long and painful study of the lock and finding a place where to attach the traction from the activator, I went to the store to buy a new lock. the old one did not suit me in terms of the effort that had to be applied to switch it (I was afraid that the activator would not pull). I spent another 600 rubles on locks not in vain: it turned out that they have structural differences.

An elongated lever with an eyelet for a regular activator. Although you can not change the locks and screw the activator in some other way, but I really wanted it to be beautiful and reliable according to the mind. I want to advise, before proceeding with the replacement of locks, try to unscrew all the bolts (out of 8, 2 were unscrewed from me, and since I don’t have an impact screwdriver, I had to drill out and replace with new ones), you may have to buy them too. To connect the rod with the eye of the lock lever, you need to hammer something into this very eye or insert it to reduce its diameter. I was advised on the market rubber-plastic dowels with conical sharpening and chamfer. They fit well, unfortunately I did not have time to take a photo.

In the front door I drill a hole under the ledge (by the way, as I understand the doors also come in different designs). Drilling is not difficult, but then you have to suffer, under the first layer of metal, I stumble on the second layer of metal, the drill does not get out well and it constantly slides, breaking the first hole you can pierce with a punch or still try with a drill (on the first one I pierced on the second with a drill it turned out) . Next, we drill a hole in the rack, there are no difficulties here.

This arrangement of holes was not chosen by chance, from the experience of people who drilled holes in the racks, I realized that if you drill above the limiter, you can get to the alleged partition in the rack and then the wires will have to be led out into the upper technological hole, and for this you will have to remove the panel. After drilling, do not forget to paint over the edges of the holes to protect against corrosion (I used a clear varnish). With the back door, it’s easier: only a hole in the rack had to be drilled there, and on the door, the wires were pushed into the gap near the limiter.

I won’t write about how to lay the wiring, and so, probably, everything is clear. Surprisingly, the length of the wires included in the kit was enough for a tutelka in a tutelka. Now installation of activators. There is nothing complicated here, there are mounting holes, an eyelet on the lever, the activator rod and the activator axis are on the same line, which could be easier. We fasten the activator, cut the activator rod into two parts and make a rod for the lock, connect the two rods through the clamp (included in the kit), adjust the length, tighten it tighter.

I placed the control unit under the panel behind the left speaker. Yes, I also advise you to remove this spring from the knee of the blocker on the rear doors.

In the end, all the fun cost me 2000r. And 3 days of work (well, this is due to ignorance of the topic - all for the first time).
